5 characters you’ve never met from 5 plays you know inside out…
Galaxia inhabits the theatre, channelling the voices of characters who never got to speak.
Dragging their stories into the present day, five new female characters enter our imagination through the famous theatrical figures to whom they are linked.
We meet: Medea’s daughter who is fed up with her controlling immigrant mother; Ophelia’s mother trying to work out why her daughter was gripped with such inconsolable sadness; Lady MacBeth’s sister wanting to set the story straight on her much maligned sibling; Antigone’s lover who tells of how her heart was broken by the war on drugs and Nora’s friend who is ashamed to be trapped in a situation of domestic violence.
As she channels the different characters and lets their stories be heard, Galaxia meditates on whose stories make the news, what we seek when it comes to shared narratives and why it might be time for this to change.
A one-woman show written by Green Room-nominated playwright Emilie Collyer (Dream Home, The Good Girl), UNTOLD will feature a powerhouse performance that celebrates the female voice.
